Wireless 3D Scanning
The first wireless handheld laser 3D scanner in the market
The SIMSCAN-E is the first handheld scanner in the SIMSCAN series that is equipped with a wireless module. The wireless module allows the SIMSCAN-E to transform into a fully cable-free 3D scanner. With its advanced edge computing capabilities and high-definition industrial cameras, it can capture 3D data with remarkable precision and efficiency at speeds up to 6.3 million measurements/s.
The wireless module is equipped with a high capacity dual-cycle power supply that allows the SIMSCAN-E to scan for long periods without needing a physical power supply. This versatility allows it to handle a wide range of tasks effortlessly.
Data Capture in Narrow Spaces
Compared with its competitors, SIMSCAN has a much shorter camera distance of 130 mm, which forms a steeper viewing angle allowing for the scanner to see in narrow spaces. This makes SIMSCAN, combined with it compact size, a more capable scanner for capturing accurate and complete data in hard-to-reach areas like deep grooves and confined areas.
Industry leading Accuracy
With powerful hardware and software, SIMSCAN delivers metrology-grade high-precision measurements. With its built-in HD cameras and three scanning modes, it realizes high-precision scanning with an accuracy up to 0.020 mm. This combination of enhancements allows highly accurate capture of 3D data of objects in confined areas with complex surfaces.
Triple cross laser technology
The new SIMSCAN-E incorporates Scantech’s all new Triple Cross Laser technology. The triple cross technology is a step up from the industry standard double cross technology. It employs lasers arranged in cross to form a diamond shaped grid pattern. This substantially increases the rate at which data is captured. The triple cross technology has a total of 63 blue laser lines capturing data at an astonishing rate of 6.3 million measurements/s.
Additionally, the parallel blue laser mode used for hyperfine scanning has been upgraded to use a total of 17 blue lasers.
Industrial Grade Protection
Compact and secure storage
All Scantech products are packaged in industrial grade cases to assure that all components are stored securely and to make sure that no damage is caused during transportation.
In addition, the smart design of the protective case ensures that all components needed for the operation of the system can be accessed quickly.
AirGO Power
MSCAN-L15
The SIMSCAN is ideal for scanning objects the size of a coin to medium sized object like engines and sculptures.
The SIMSCAN and the KSCAN-Magic both use blue lasers to scan objects at the metrology-grade level. The difference between the two scanners is that the SIMSCAN does not have the infrared laser for large area scanning and the in-built photogrammetry system.
However, the SIMSCAN differentiates itself by its compact and ergonomic design, a longer depth of field, and a faster scanning rate, resulting in its ability to scan objects in tight and narrow spaces.
The three scanning modes on the SIMSCAN differ in the number and configuration of the lasers. Basically, the higher laser count equates to faster scanning speeds while taking a small dip in accuracy and resolution. However, the scanning modes can be flexibly switched and combined to satisfy different application needs while satisfying the metrology-grade accuracy required for an efficient workflow.
The MSCAN-L15 can help increase the volumetric accuracy by using photogrammetry to capture the position of the markers. Marker positions captured by a photogrammetry system have a higher accuracy which results in better volumetric accuracy when scanning medium sized objects.
